Our Wildlife Research Program offers participants an exciting opportunity to explore and study Sri Lanka’s diverse ecosystems by visiting some of the island’s most renowned national parks and reserves. The program includes research expeditions to Gal Oya National Park, where participants can observe the rich biodiversity, including the famous elephant herds and various bird species. In Minneriya National Park, known for its spectacular elephant gatherings, researchers will have the chance to study these majestic creatures up close in their natural habitat. Sinharaja Rainforest Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site, provides a rare opportunity to explore one of the world’s last tropical rainforests, home to endemic flora and fauna. Udawalawe National Park, renowned for its large populations of elephants, offers valuable insights into elephant behaviour and conservation. Wilpattu National Park, with its diverse wildlife and notable leopard sightings, provides an ideal environment for wildlife observation and research. Lastly, Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous parks, offers a chance to study leopards, elephants, and a wide range of bird species in one of the country’s most biodiverse regions.
